Humorous Snuff Box Carved Wood Wolves Hen Castle Fable 19th
Carved wooden snuff box, with humorous decoration of two humanized and dressed wolves walking towards a castle, dragging with them held by the neck a hen or a rooster, on the side a wolf disguised as a shepherd frightens a flock of sheep, most certainly representation from a fable or a popular tale, from the 19th century. This box is in good general condition. Please note: some accidents on the wood and at the back at the hinge (see the red arrow), traces of restoration at the hinge, wear and tear, see photos.
