Decorative Element: Carved Wooden Altarpiece Panel With Floral Motifs, 18th Century

Decorative carved wooden element, a piece of altarpiece paneling, dating from the 18th century. This piece of wood forms a floral garland: beautiful, fully bloomed flowers and roses alternate with broad leaves, perfectly in keeping with the iconographic repertoire of Baroque and Rococo churches from the early 18th century.

The openwork structure indicates that this piece was a hanging floral motif or garland attached to a contrasting background to highlight the relief of the decorative ensemble, typical of altarpieces of the period.

This piece is in good overall condition. It was originally polychrome (and likely gilded); only a few traces of this remain in its current state.

Please note: a few cracks and holes in the wood, signs of age; see photos.
