"Barometer With Sea Monsters In Gilt Wood, Louis 16 Period"
Barometer in carved and gilded wood from the Louis 16 period, France, 18th century, Circa 1770, The original dial signed "By P. Carbonne", flanked by two sea monsters and scaled tails, with marine plants. The upper part decorated with a cartouche surrounded by laurel branches and topped with a garland of flowers. Also bearing an original inscription in ink on the back "Pierre Carbon" Rare and beautiful barometer with its unique decoration carved with sea monsters, in its original gilding and patina with slight wear of time revealing the plate red.
