Rare large medal in solid silver (155 gr) in very good condition, commemorating the inauguration of the Hotel Dieu de Nantes (Nantes hospital) dated 1856, signed by the engraver Caqué F. with the mention of the sponsor "Le Comte E . de Nieuwerkerke Direxit" - superintendent of Fine Arts for Emperor Napoleon III, and lover of Princess Mathilde according to rumors of the time... A copy is in the collections of the Dobrée Museum in Nantes, another view on internet sold for 1,000 euros, as well as another in copper for 240 euros.
