Early 19th century France - Auvergne - Haute Loire Very beautiful folk art box in hand-carved wood. Old Auvergne work of popular art (Puy-en-Velay region) Wooden box with a magnificent patina and entirely hand-carved with a knife. Simple assembly and brass closure. Metal lock which unfortunately no longer has its key and is not complete. Back of the cracked cover, Sculpture of rosettes and flowers, Trees of life, the blanks are decorated with wolf teeth and zigzag around rosette motifs.
