Silver Songbird Music Box, Karl Griesbaum Company
Singing bird music box featuring a hinged secret door at the rear that opens to reveal three hallmarks. The sides are adorned with cornucopias opening onto a bouquet of flowers amidst scrollwork, framed by egg-and-dart and bead-and-reel borders. The top section features a double-sided painted enamel panel displaying an alpine landscape on one side and a floral scene on a turquoise-blue background on the other. This medallion lifts—activating the mechanism via a push-button on the case—to reveal the singing bird. In working order, includes a bird-shaped key.
