Arte Povera XVIIIth Century, Panel With Party Scene And Dance
Rare panel certainly coming from the top of a token or Arte Povera work box. Arte Povera is an inexpensive decorative technique imitating 18th century lacquerware. It consists of cutting out existing decorations on a sheet of paper and sticking them on the surface to be decorated. The composition is then covered with numerous layers of varnish to ensure its solidity. Here we are in the presence of a scene of celebration and dancing. Some accidents and uprisings. On the back an old antique dealer's label falsely indicating varnish martin but it is indeed Arte Povera. 18th century period. Modern frame with brass corners. Delivery 18 euros in France, 35 euros in the EU and 100 euros rest of the world.
