Very Large Mail Box 19th Century Model

Extraordinary dimensions for this mail box, walnut veneered, England, 19th century period. Half-round potbellied body and lid with a large cutaway mounted on a hinge. Brass swing handle and brass escutcheon inlaid and engraved with the initials F B. Hasp lock and functional brass keyhole with its iron key. Interior with 7 compartments made from thin walnut boards with double-curved edges. Some visible defects in the plating, wear at the base, small scattered scratches...However, I consider this object to be in good condition, given its undoubtedly intensive use. The whole remains coherent and solid. Varnish with the original stamp still very present which leaves a pretty patina to the reddish-brown walnut. Note: the extremely large size.
