Porcelain statue depicting Hotei, one of the seven gods of happiness in Japan, also known as the Laughing Buddha in popular culture. A symbol of luck and good fortune, he usually carries a bag full of valuables which he distributes to the people he meets. The figurine is hand painted with the characteristic colors of Kutani porcelain.
