"Ravinet & Denfert : Rare Spoon Service In Sterling Silver Art Nouveau - Mucha"
An extremely rare Sterling Silver ART NOUVEAU Dessert Spoon Service c.1900. Service composed of its 6 Spoons with handles finely decorated by a characteristic art nouveau profile of a woman with sinuous long hair holding a flower in her hand (very probably after a model by Mucha). Beautifully crafted from the highest qiality silver, each piece is punched with the Minerva 1st Standard Hallmark (.950) and marks of Master Goldsmiths Louis RAVINET & Charles D'ENFERT (Hallmark with the initials "R&D" and a clover) who joined forces in 1891. They will mark this 1900 era in the field of ART NOUVEAU goldsmithing thus winning the Gold Medal in quick succession at the Universal Exhibitions of Lyon in 1894 and Brussels in 1897.
This enchanting service is presented in its original fitted box lined with silk and beige chamois. This exceptional Art Nouvrau era service in very good condition, furthermore serviced and cleaned by our Goldsmith, and complete with its original box. Exquisitely designed to grace the finest of tables....
