Risler & Carre : Antique French Sterling Silver Flatware Set Mascarons / Greenman 50pcs - Oak Chest

Spectacular solid silver flatware set from RISLER & CARRE for 12 guests. The 50-piece set comprises 12 Dinner Forks, 12 Dinner Spoons, 12 each Dessert / Entremets Cutlery Forks and Spoons), 1 Large Soup Ladle and 1 Cream Spoon. Pieces are beautifully decorated with threaded borders enriched by foliage and shell motifs, and feature a striking Mascaron / Greenman surmounting the decorative intertwined monogram on the handles. All pieces are monogrammed except the cream spoon, which is in the same pattern, by the same maker.
Very finely crafted from the highest quality silver, each piece is punched with the Minerve 1st (.950) and mark of Master Goldsmith RISLER & CARRE (mark with the initials "R&C", a star and a square) active in 1897. The set is presented in a period wooden chest with brass corners and handles, the fitted interior with a lift-out tray. Revised and cleaned by our Parisian silversmith, the pieces are in excellent condition, fork tines unblemished and evenly pointed, and just light signs of use to note.
