Object description :

"Armand Frenais : Large Empire Style Sterling Silver Soup Tureen - Eagle Heads"
A large and spectacular Empire style Solid Silver SoupTureen. Circular foot and lid are decorated an applied border of water leaves, and a border of palmettes adorns the rim of the body. The tureen features spectacular figural handles representing Eagle Heads, and the finial surmounting the dome lid is an important Pine Cone / Seed.
Very finely crafted from the highest quality silver, it is punched with Minerva 1st Standard (.950) hallmarks, and mark of Master Goldsmith Armand FRENAIS (hallmark with the initials "AF" and an anchor) active in 1877. This large and spectacular Tureen is in excellent condition, furthermore revised and cleaned by our Goldsmith, only micro-scratches from use to note. A pure marvel to discover through the attached photos...
Do not take into account the reflections in the photos.
