Artist: François Heaulmé
Aluminum frame (usual wear). Frame dimensions: 51 x 66 cm. Technique: wash and monotype collage.
Titled "Natural history behind a paravant", dated 78. Signed. Paper dimensions: 49 x 64.5 cm.
François Heaulmé is an expressionist painter of the School of Paris born in 1927 in Saint-Jorioz (Haute-Savoie), installed in Montmartre in Paris then in Saint-Cirice (Cahors) in the Lot, died on October 23, 2005.
Since 1967, François Heaulmé is particularly interested in monotypes. His mastery is such that it allows both the play of spontaneity and very elaborate research. In its application not only on Arches paper, but above all on tissue paper – something in which it innovates – it gives to the vast field of possibilities offered by this still too little-known and very rightly re-emphasized means of expression, new scale"
(History of the monotype, extract from the pamphlet Le monotype, by Annie Meyer and Marie-Brunette Spire, Pro Monotype, Brussels, 1983).
Numerous exhibitions.
Works at the Cahors Henri Martin Museum and at the Roger Art Museum Quillot, Clermont-Ferrand.
