Artist: Ludo Chauviac (1894-1978)
Oil on canvas cardboard from the 1930s-1950s representing a view of the south of France, of the Côte d'Azur.
After much research I was unable to identify the place, perhaps ruins.
Signed Chauviac for Ludo Chauviac* (1894-1978).
The carved walnut frame is original but has some gaps.
Delivery possible by registered colissimo with insurance and delivered against signature for:
France €25
Europe €45
Others €70
*Originally from Montpellier, Ludo Chauviac went to Paris where he became a student of Fernand Cormon before exhibiting at the Salon des artistes français (honorable mention in 1933).
Sultry and illustrator of naughty novels, Ludo Chauviac (1894-1978) tried his adventure in Paris. His ill-fated acolytes Foujita and Dubout introduced him to the Parisian artistic world between the wars.
He sketched the cover of the book Au grand 13 signed Gom Gut, pseudonym of Georges Simenon.
After an intense Parisian life, Ludo returns to his native region of Montpellier to continue his work.
