Orientalist Portrait Of Moroccan Woman Simone Lorimy Delaroziere 20th

This orientalist painting of a Moroccan woman is signed by the painter Simone Lorimy Delarozière (1905-1987). It is located and dated “Fez 1938”.
More than decorative, this portrait is of high quality, the face of the thoughtful woman is realistic. Also the veil and the garment by their colors and the drape are very beautiful.

This oil on canvas is in its juice, on its original canvas. It is in very good condition, however a little dirty, a slight cleaning could sublimate this portrait with colors already very beautiful.

We know little about this painter. Recently a work by several women including Lorimy Delarozière won the Grand Pelerin Heritage Award 2023. The work, a Way of the Cross made in the mid-1930s by a trio of female painters artists: Marthe Flandrin (1904-1987), Simone Latron (1905-2000), Prix de Rome de gravure in 1930, the wife of his brother Paul Flandrin, and Simone Lorimy-Delarozière (1905-1987).
Little recognition for this artist almost unknown but endowed with an obvious talent.
