Beautiful large engraving by famous Nicolas Bonnart (France, 1637-1717), who had the Royal privilege of making Court Portraits. It is taken from his album: Recueil des modes de la cour de France, Paris, 1678-1693. It is the beautiful Madame de Maintenon, (1637 - 1718) Louise Benedicte de Bourbon, Duchess of Maine, favorite of the King, whom she married on the night of October 9 to 10, 1683, this secret marriage thus not shocking the court , nor Church. Engraving was watercolored, partially gilded by the publisher. Sheet: 240 x 360 mm., Bowl: 195 x 270 mm.
