Perfume burner with lid and handles, in bronze. Decorated with floral ornaments, masks of mythical animals and relief representations of phoenix (Japanese: hōō: symbol of harmony, prosperity, its appearance announces the arrival of better and peaceful times) and qilin (Japanese: kirin: mythical animal having the features of a dragon, a deer, a fish or a lion, its appearance was considered a good omen, a symbol of virtue and justice).
