Important painting representing a lively mountain landscape. In the center, figures are walking along a path, several women are leaning against a wall and chatting among themselves. A shepherdess sits near a watering trough, at the bottom right of the canvas. In the background, snow covers the tops of the mountains. Very beautiful atmospheric scene of daily life in small mountain villages at the end of the 19th century. Our oil on canvas was mounted on a plywood panel probably at the end of the 20th century in order to reinforce it. Note some wear and slight lack of material at the sky level, without impact on aesthetics (see photos).
