Terracotta sculpture representing a young woman feeding a dog, a greyhound. The half-naked woman, leaning with her right hand, feeds the animal with her left hand. The dog politely waits for his reward.
Art deco, 1920s-1930s. Signed "Cipriani".
Length 54 cm, width 20 cm, height 31.5 cm.
Relatively good state of conservation, one of the woman's legs is stuck.
Ugo Cipriani (1897-1960) was an Italian sculptor, student of the Accademia di Belle Arti. He moved to France in the 1930s due to Mussolini's fascist regime. While living in Paris, he became the local representative of art de co direction. He created works using materials such as bronze, pewter, alabaster and marble. He is the author of the statue of Guglielmo Oberdan in Oberdan Square in Florence.
