Kayseri rug in wool, originating from Türkiye in the Kayseri region.
This rug measures 170 cm wide by 235 cm long. It has a large floral medallion decoration. Tied around 1970, in perfect condition, velvet, fringes and edges. The velvet of the Kayseri is always flat and the inspiration for these rugs comes from ancient Persian rugs, in particular from the Tabriz. Surprisingly in Tabriz we tie silk carpets having the influence of Kayseri carpets. These exchanges of drawings are due to the commercial and cultural contacts and exchanges that these two cities have between them. These exceptional rugs with delicate patterns are inspired by nature and decorated with interlacing plants, in pastel dyes often enhanced by midnight blue or cardinal red, our model Kayseri can be found in all sizes knotted in wool or in silk. This rug has been professionally cleaned and environmentally friendly.
