"Persian Bidjar rug, Kork wool, 135 cm wide x 218 cm long, Iran, in hand-knotted wool, from the first part of the 20th century around 1920/1930" BIDJAR Iran rug, hand-knotted, in kork wool in perfect condition , beautiful silky wool in a coral color, knotted for around 350,000 knots per M2. A deep coral field with lattice decoration sown with small flowers and adorned with a indented blue central medallion, the whole for half, with an abrash, lighter shades, which gives it an additional beauty.
The main border on a black background has a decoration of palm leaves and leaves, followed on both sides by bands decorated with small flowers. The shaving of this Kork wool rug, (wool taken from the neck and shoulders of lambs only, at the first shearing) is so precise that the material is like silk. Not far from Sanandaj, the region of the finely knotted Senneh carpet, is the small town of Bijar which, with its surrounding villages, produces what is undoubtedly the heaviest carpet in Persia.
Heavy and thick, Bijar rugs are difficult to handle but robust for eternity.
This carpet has been professionally and ecologically cleaned.
