Inkwell Forming Writing Desk Period Early 19th Century

Beautiful inkwell forming a writing desk from the Restoration period. Rectangular in shape, green lacquered (some minor paint wear), resting on four claw feet. It has an inkwell with its glass tank encircled with bronze chiselled with palmettes around the edge, a sprinkler lid of which the tank is missing, two other missing utensils, as well as a long receptacle for feathers and a side drawer. Four pretty bronze applied on each side: two similar on each length featuring cherubs under the allegory of scenes, music, writing... The other two bronze appliques different from central rosette for the one and antique vase for the other. the drawer has a bronze pull knob. Surrounding well chiseled bronze friezes on the edges in the upper and lower parts of the body of the inkwell. Nice overall patina. The bronzes are lustrous but not excessively leaving room for authenticity. Note: original green lacquer. Delivery: €15 for metropolitan France.
