A nice document and a beautiful testimony of the fishing village that was Cassis at the beginning of the 20th century with this bird's eye view of the legendary cliff of Cap Canaille by the Marseilles artist Michel Vilalta (1871-1942). The work is done in oil on canvas, it is offered in a small simple frame that measures 55 cm by 66 cm and 50 cm by 61 for the canvas alone. In good condition, it is signed lower right. A student of the National School of Fine Arts, he is best known for his landscapes. He colors the creeks of Marseille in a sober way, He produces many views of the seaside, the quays, and the urban landscapes of the south. He exhibited at the Salon of French Artists from 1927 to 1936: Bassin du Carénage in Marseille 1927, Valldemosa, Balearic Islands (1931).
