Project for a “Great Fountain of the Universe”. Indian ink on fine paper. 57 x 44.2 cm, glued by the edges on a sheet of 60.4 x 46 cm. At the top of the fountain, a deity, goddess or muse, holding a trident and a compass, stands on a globe supported by four Atlases (naked male figures carrying the globe on their shoulders). The scale is given in Meters. Drawing attributable to J. Millou, a 19th century Rhone architect.
