Paul Lajoie (1866-1940) first studied and worked in Valenciennes (Nord), before being a student of Louis Jules André and Victor Laloux at the École des Beaux-arts in Paris from 1886 to 1890. He worked mainly in Nord-Pas-de-Calais and on the Côte-d'Azur from Monte-Carlo. He was also inspector of diocesan works in Oran (Algeria) from 1895 to 1897. Èze is located on the Côte d'Azur, between Nice and Monaco. Ref. A13-32
