Orientalist Box Signed Armand Point
Box or glove box in gilded and chiseled bronze with orientalist decoration of scrolls, lotus flowers, pine cones in medallions, padded silk interior. It is stamped AP below for Armand Point, multi-talented artist, orientalist and symbolist painter, engraver, patron, born in Algiers in 1861. The box also bears the mark of the Boissier house in Paris, a famous chocolatier and confectioner founded in 1827 whose The first boutique was located on the current Place de l'Etoile in Paris and counted among its clientele the celebrities of the time (Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas...). Missing key, small wear to the tang.
