Charming jewelry box signed "Tahan à Paris" is made of veneer wood and ivory marquetry. The lid is decorated in its center with a medallion. The compartments are decorated with garlands of ivory flowers. The interior of the box is upholstered with padded blue silk in used condition without key, small wear and small lack of veneer on the protruding parts (see photos) as well as the small baguette in the lower part Maison Tahan was founded by Pierre Lambert Tahan at the beginning of the 19th century in Belgium. His son Jean Pierre Alexandre took over the company in 1844, rue de la Paix then Boulevard desItaliens and developed it until 1866, with the production of boxes, liquor cabinets and small precious pieces of furniture, supplier of Napoleon III's Imperial furniture storage
