"The Toys: Elemer Vagh Weinmann"
On a table many brightly colored toys are presented. In the background a grand piano whose ivory keys stand out. This very original composition in its treatment and its theme, diffuses an atmosphere imbued with nostalgia.Ecole de Paris, bears the label of an exhibition in Paris dedicated to the artist.
Elemer Vagh Weinmann is a Hungarian painter born December 20, 1906 in Budapest and died January 4, 1994 in Aix-en-Provence. He is the younger brother of Maurice and Nándor. He worked in association with his brothers Nándor and Maurice. We know of certain works painted in common. The subjects are the same tormented landscapes or removed but faithful portraits. He exhibited at the Salon d'Hiver from 1946 to 1949. Expressionist like his brothers, his touch is the most modern of the three: in macrophotography one would take it for Pierre Soulages or Gérard Schneider.
