Bronze
Artist: Eutrope Bouret
Bronze subject with medal patina signed Eutrope Bouret (1833-1906), French sculptor member of the Society of Artists, whose works were exhibited at the Salon from 1875 to 1903. Chiseled with meticulousness, this work represents a young woman dressed in a draped and vaporous dress held by her left hand. Her wavy hair is held back by a long scarf, framing her beautiful, serene face. She rests her right hand on a book supported by a column. Signed on the terrace and the bottom of the column, this bronze inspired by mythology is a tribute to femininity. ********* Period: 19th century Very good condition.
