Artist: E. Gilles
Lovely Ceramic Planter with Painted Decor presenting an illustrated Landscape on each side. This 19th century Decorative Object was made by Édouard Gilles (1868-1895), an Art Faïencier known for the beauty of his creations. This Ceramic Planter from Montigny-sur-Loing presents a monogram signed hollow EG and numbered 229. Each side of this Decorative Object is illustrated with a Landscape. A City bordering a river under an Autumnal sky appears in warm hues, then gives way to a Scene composed of boats and houses at the edge of the water.
