Asian Saddle, In The Style Of Gabriel Viardot – Late 19th Century
An exceptional piece of furniture, this stained sycamore armchair stands out for its exquisitely delicate openwork carvings and remarkable decorative presence. The square top features veined Griotte marble, framed by a finely chiseled and molded geometric band.
The fully openwork apron features a network of foliage, volutes, and floral motifs, enhanced on each side by a finely repoussé bronze medallion depicting a lion. The four curved legs, carved with plant motifs, end in stylized claws, giving the piece a slender and elegant silhouette.
A crossbar, also openwork and centered with a bronze medallion depicting a beautiful bird in flight surrounded by clouds, reinforces the piece’s stability while enriching its decorative appeal. The piece as a whole is a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship of talented artisans.
A refined decorative piece, ideal for showcasing a vase, a plant, or a work of art, this pedestal combines high-quality craftsmanship, rich ornamentation, and exotic charm.
