Superb painting signed lower left "Fontenay" representing a pretty bouquet of flowers in a vase decorated with a bird on an entablature, with a ladybird and various insects, very nicely painted, in a frame with palmettes in gilded stucco. Our painting was completely restored and relined about 50 years ago according to the former owners. Jean-Baptiste Blain de Fontenay 1653-1715.
