Barometer "by Bastin In Paris" Louis XVI Period
Barometer Thermonmeter gilt wood carved "by Bastin ** in Paris" Louis XVI, XVIII th decor garlands, laurel, rosette and pine cone surmounted by a large bow of flowers. Original gilding in very good condition. It bears the inscriptions "At the entrance to the Grande Rue Faubourg St Antoine at the Prime .... next to the ...." on its original dial indicating the cardinal points. Thermometer according to Réaumur indicate, among others, the temperatures recorded in Paris in 1740, 1764, 1767, 1768, 1769, 1776. ** Pierre-Joseph Bastin received Master on January 7, 1762
