Bronze sculpture by Carrier-Belleuse (Anisy-le-Château 1824 - Sèvres 1887) He came to Paris at the age of 13 and entered as an apprentice with the chaser Bauchery then with the goldsmith Fauconnier then with the Fannières brothers, he appeared at the Salon in 1850. He worked in Paris for the Tuileries, the Louvre, the Opera, the Théatre Français. Of an exceptional fecundity he is also the author of a quantity of busts, groups, historical figures, nudes, allegories as well as ornaments, candelabras, vases which know under the Second Empire a considerable success. He shapes with the same talent the terracotta, the marble, the plaster. Holder of numerous awards, he will be appointed in 1875 director of the works of art at the manufacture of Sèvres.
