"Bronze Sculpture"
On the eve of the summer holidays, this magnificent sculpture by Edouard Drouot reminds us of the dangers of swimming and the exemplary dedication of lifeguards. Edouard DROUOT (1859-1945) - "Rescue at sea" - Group in brown bronze with two shades of green, signed E Drouot with stamp of the founder CHARDON. Height: 63cm. Very beautiful sculpture on the theme of rescue in the marine environment where we see a man saving a child, the two seem terrified, their hair is wet, the child clings to a rope held by his rescuer, the waves are up to legs. The few close-up images show the power of the expressions with a remarkable plasticity and a very beautiful color of brown and green patina. This moving sculpture in homage to lifeguards could be the subject of a magnificent gift in thanks to a team from the SNSM. Edouard DROUOT artist sculptor was a prominent personality of the sculpture of his time, with a vast repertoire of themes and a strong sense of movement and expression as evidenced by this bronze. He exhibited in many salons from 1889, with busts of both female and male figures, allegories, mythological compositions, characters and a large number of animal subjects.
