Memoria Sculpture In Patinated Bronze Signed Emile Louis Picault, Late Nineteenth Century
Artist: Emile Louis Picault
Figure "Memoria" in bronze with nuanced brown and green patina signed Emile Louis Picault. It represents a seated young woman dressed in a drape holding a brush in one hand and pages with the writing "I evoke the past the radiant hours" on the other. Behind her, the bronze is treated like a rock decorated with oak leaves with the inscription "the heart remembers". This composition where the female figure comes out of the frame gives a feeling of movement and great elegance to the whole. The sculpture is signed E. PIcault on the side of the terrace and stamped "Vrai bronze garantie Paris" by the founder on the back.
