Rare and stunning Persian ceramic cip, Nishapur (Iran), 9th -10th cty
Samanid period (810-1005)
Colors used (green, yellow and manganese) and the richly intertwined zoomorphic decorations (bulls or buffaloes and birds) and specially birds' stylization, again the colored leaves on the reverse, are characteristic of ceramics of this period (please check last photos for similar collection pieces, sometimes from prestigious museums!)
Sizes 20cm diameter and 7cm depth
Condition: old restorations visible on photos, some slight iridescences.
