The gilded bronze sculpture represents a kneeling woman and a small satyr, a mythological god. The motif of a woman with a satyr in art has been known at least since the Renaissance, for example the works of Benedetto Montagna. The satyr was supposed to tempt a young girl to lose herself in worldly pleasures like dancing or wine. The sculpture is executed in the spirit of art deco, also referring to classical sculpture. Claudio Mimo Blasco (1887 Zamora, Spain - 1959 Caracas, Venezuela) - sculptor, known primarily for his work in the art deco style . His favorite subjects were dancers, musicians or mythological representations. He created sculptures in bronze and also in chryselophantine. Cast bronze, chiseled and gilded by hand, stone base.
