First name: Gustave Nationality: Belgian Occupation: Sculptor Date and place of birth and death: Born in Wetteren in 1861 and died in Schaerbeek in 1924 Pupil of his father Hippolyte Van Hove, who was a potter. Continuing education at the Academy of Wetteren and around 1884-1887 at the Academy of Brussels. Second Prix de Rome in 1888, after J. Lagae. Took part in the Salons of Ghent and Brussels, among others in the General Exhibition of Fine Arts in Brussels in 1884 ("Boy with fish", plaster sculpture). It is a bronze which is the reduction of the model drawn in 1860 and cast by the Lechef Brussels foundry
