Small Showcase In Precious Wood In The Style Of Louis XIV, Napoleon III Period - 1850

Rare Showcase combining marquetry of rosewood, lemon tree, amaranth and mahogany in the Louis XIV style. This refined piece of furniture opens with two glass doors featuring a magnificent rosewood frieze veneer. A carved and scalloped bronze molding surrounds the windows. These, of identical size, are separated by an elegant crosspiece. These slightly cut-out doors are adorned in relief with a scalloped bronze molding. These doors open with two brass hinges. In the center the joint cover is in bronze with a beautiful ribbon pattern. The lock is in working order with its added bronze key and its two discreet original entries in bronze as well. Inside, we discover three shelves resting on cleats, themselves adjustable on racks. The interior part of the doors, the sides and the bottom are treated with satin red ochres. On each side of the facade, the canted uprights are made up of three parts of rosewood and light and dark wood representing alternating grooves. The upper part of the uprights is decorated with a large exceptional bronze drop representing a face surrounded by flowers. The slightly protruding base in mahogany veneer arranged in a fan shape has a central bronze representing a shell and foliage and a macaroon on each of its cut sides. The projection of this base is dressed in a scalloped bronze. Identically the upper part is highlighted with finely chiseled and scalloped bronze moldings. The slightly inclined pediment part is made of butterfly rosewood, lemon net and stained wood. A superb subtly veined white marble is placed on the top and highlighted by a bronze rod. With its shimmering colors and the quality of its precious woods, this Louis XIV Showcase will delight you with its rich ornamentation and its ideal size.
