"Candy Box, 18th Century, Northern Italy, Golden Stuccoed Wood"
Old Lacquered and Gilded Box, rectangular larch splint with rounded corners, stuccoed, painted, engraved and once gilded, on body and lid. Flower engraved on lid, red and gold, and dark marbled decoration.
A present box, sweets, jellies, Northern Italy or Nice, late 18th century.
Box is average condition, with wear, a small lack of wood on edge, lack of coating, and faded colors.
there remain only a few traces of gilding on  lid while the red color of the armenia red preparation predominates. Dimensions: 11cm x 8cm x 4.5cm,
