Important Empire Clock With The Vestal In Gilded Bronze, Early 19th Century
Important Empire clock in very finely chiseled gilt bronze representing a vestal virgin giving drink to an eagle, dating from the very beginning of the 19th century around 1810. The clock that we present is decorated with bas-reliefs representing garlands of flowers, heads of grotesques as well as offering cups. They rest on the facade on two feet with palmettes, decorated with crossettes. A beautiful gilding with two original golds completes the decor. Private collection. In good condition (missing the pendulum). Dimensions: h. 59cm x W. 36.5 cm x d.13.5 cm.
