A typical example of late 19th century French impressionist floral art, it was executed in 1888 by the listed landscape, genre and still life painter Paul Lecuit-Monroy (1858 - Paris - 1926). He was a pupil of Bouguereau, T. Robert-Fleury, Gabriel Ferrier, lived and worked in Paris.
