François NARDI (1864-1936) Maritime Landscape Oil on canvas Signed lower right 17.5 x 26.5 cm Very good condition _ Nardi is a painter born in Nice and raised in Toulon. The painter Frédéric Montenard spotted his talent and encouraged him to go study in Paris where he joined the Académie Julian. During his participation in the Salon of 1890, he gained fame and began to exhibit in France and abroad. He divided his life between Paris and Toulon. His work is marked by his attachment to the Mediterranean, the landscapes and the sea. He liked to paint his landscapes on the spot and observed the effects of the wind, the sun and the movements of the sea. or for all that really influenced by the currents of his time.
