Having spent his entire childhood near the beaches of the Atlantic, the sea remains his main theme of inspiration. He entered the Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux and then in Paris. In 1955, he joined an advertising agency as a poster designer and then as artistic director. Alongside his artistic and technical work, throughout this period he never stopped painting. Matthieu Diesse's paintings are in many private private collections in France and abroad.
