“Eastern tip of the Island of ...”—presumably the Île de la Jatte. Asnières, circa 1940.

Charles BETOUT (1869–1945) was a French theater costume designer and collaborator of Charles Bianchini; he designed costumes for the Paris Opera from 1905 to 1907 and was subsequently chief costume designer at the Comédie Française between 1919 and 1939.
