Porcelain jewelry box with hand painted miniature of the last Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I as a child, hand painted with gilded interior. This fine porcelain work was created by the famous Vienna porcelain manufacturer Ernst Wahliss in the circa 1880s.
Inscription: signed on the miniature at the bottom right, on the back of the box marks and inscription in German: "Porcelain house of Ernst Wahliss, Vienna" and "His Majesty the Emperor Franz Joseph I"
Technique: porcelain, painted in red, decorated with gold ornaments, gold plated interior, hand painted miniature.
Dimensions: diameter 18 x height 9 cm.
