Large Winter Garden Basin, Tool Embossed Copper, Late 19th Century
Superb copper, large size, hammer built and carved, rolled upper edge, base with twisted gadroons, on high, a sympathetic chimera with scales on one side, on the other beautiful plant scrolls, already inspired by the next Art Nouveau . Nice hammering job, with a very finicky carving finish, high quality.
Two wrought iron handles and twisted, already Art Nouveau.
Comes from one villa on the Côte d'Azur .... Good condition, I was able to check it by polishing it ....
