A screen in lacquered wood, painted, inlaid with bone and mother-of-pearl using the Shibayama technique. It is a sculptural art in which the artist combines different materials. Precious materials are used as inlays or applications on the surface of the carved wood. Japan, Meiji era (1868-1912). The signature is visible in the photos. The Shibayama technique was initiated in 1772-1781 by Onoki Senzo, whose hometown - Shibayama - became the name of the technique invented by the Japanese artist. Height 128 cm, length 102 cm, width 27 cm. Condition as seen in the photos, good, no loss of the overlay.
