Magnificent earthenware lion figure which can also be used as a candle holder. The lion with its proud gait is made of hand-painted earthenware. At the foot is the Nancy coat of arms with its motto "Non Inultus Premor".

Manufacture of Saint-Clément Keller & Guérin, Saint-Clément, Lorraine, France. End of the 19th century. Signed: "SC KG". 

Height 45 cm, width 29 cm, depth 19.5 cm.

Very good state of conservation.

Manufacture de Saint-Clément - famous earthenware factory existing in Saint-Clément since 1758. Over time, it has produced objects of varied styles and shapes: services, vases, figurines, candlesticks, etc. In 1892, the Saint-Clément factory was bought by the Keller & Guérin company, which also had a second earthenware factory in Lunéville, not far from there. It exist until 2022.
